It's good to see you here in the Community, @cornishmike.

Adding CIS deductions on an invoice is easy peasy. I'd be happy to guide you through the steps.

First off, you'll need to turn on the CIS feature in your QuickBooks Online account. Here's how:

  1. Click the Gear icon, then select Account and Settings.
  2. Select the Advanced menu.
  3. Go to the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) section.
  4. Select the Enable CIS box, then fill in the necessary fields.
  5. Click Save, then Done

Once done, let's set up the customer as a CIS contractor. This way, the CIS deduction will automatically show upon creating the invoice. Let me guide you how.

  1. Click Sales from the left menu, then select Customer.
  2. Choose and open the customer's profile.
  3. Select Edit, then put a checkmark on the Is CIS contractor box.
  4. Click Save.

After the steps, you'll be able to add CIS deductions to your invoices. For more information about CIS, feel free to check out this article: CIS in QuickBooks Online.
