For a specific month I had uploaded a number of expense invoice - Travel £100, Parking £50. The bank transaction shows that an amount of £150 has been paid. I can see that you can split this amount into Travel £100 and Parking £50 but how do you match the receipts to the split bank transaction

Hi there, @a-crawshaw-langl. It's great that you're looking to manage your expenses effectively. I'll be glad to assist you with this matter.

In this case, you don't need to use the split option when matching the bank transaction to your QuickBooks records. The split feature is typically used when you have an unrecorded bank entry that must be divided into various categories or accounts.

Instead, you can directly match it to the corresponding expenses. Here's how you can do it:

  1. Go to the Banking or Transactions tab.
  2. Locate the bank transaction with the total amount of £150.
  3. Select it to view its details.
  4. Choose the Find match button.
  5. QuickBooks will display a list of suggested matches.
  6. Look for the travel and parking expenses of £100 and £50 in the list. Check the boxes next to them.
  7. Click Save to complete the process.

Moreover, it's important to regularly reconcile your accounts to ensure accurate and up-to-date records. This practice can help you identify any discrepancies or errors, allowing you to address them promptly and maintain the financial health of your accounts.

Feel free to reply to this post if you have further questions about managing bank feeds. I'll be happy to lend a hand. Have a good one!
