I’ve captured and made expenses from receipts. How do I match them to a transaction?

Welcome to the QuickBooks Community, phl-cooke. I'll ensure you can match a receipt to a transaction on an iPad by following the steps below.

Once you've uploaded your receipts to QuickBooks, they'll appear on the For Review tab. I recommend going to the said section and you're able to match receipts to transactions.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Menu ≡ and choose Receipt snap.
  2. You can find the receipts that are not in your books yet in the For Review tab.
  3. Check your uploaded receipts. Review the label under the receipt amount to find out what steps you need to take next.

If QuickBooks finds one or more entries that match your uploaded receipts, please follow the steps below.

  1. Choose the receipt to view the transactions that match.
  2. Select the entry you want to match the receipt with.

However, when a receipt doesn’t have a label under its amount, it indicates QuickBooks can’t find an existing one that matches it. You can create a new transaction based on your receipt. You can open this article on how you can perform the process: Upload your receipts and bills to QuickBooks Online.

Lastly, refer to this article if you need steps on how you can review your accounts in the program to ensure they match your bank and credit card statements: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online.

I'll be around in case you need further assistance in matching transactions in QuickBooks. Feel free to drop a comment below, and I'll be sure to get back to you, phl-cooke.
