How do i record cash receipts into my quickbooks account so that they may be included in my VAT return ?

Are these receipts where you have used petty cash to buy things or for sales for the business,?

 

Either way you can create a petty cash account in the chart of accounts to record these transactions.

If you go to chart of accounting>chart of accounts>new>in account type select>cash and bank and in hand>detail type is cash on hand>in the name you can leave as is or name it petty cash

 

Then when select expense you can use the petty cash option and the same if any sales receipts are paid in in cash that you may not be depositing into the bank.

 

If at a later date you do deposit any into the bank you can use the transfer function in the +symbol to move money across
