Question

How do I set it up for my invoices to be paid into my bank by bank transfer? How do I set up to make a payment to an employee?

I sent an invoice to a client but they couldn't pay it via the invoice link. But had to be done by bank transfer which didn't show on my QuickBooks account and didn't show that the invoice was paid.

I would like to set up a payment to myself for a wage. How would I go about doing this via the QuickBooks app

I'd like to help with your question about setting up a bank account to receive payments from your customers, sm_joinery-hotma.

There are a couple of ways your clients can pay your invoices online through QuickBooks. The system integrates with PayPal and Go Cardless to accept online payments via credit card, debit card, or PayPal with low fees.

Check out these articles on how to set them up and how to enter your bank account as well:

In the UK version of QuickBooks, you can pay your employees through BACS. You can set it up by following these steps:

  1. Go to Payroll Payroll Settings > Payment Settings.
  2. Click Add to set up a bank account you'll use to pay your employees.
    • File Format (either standard BACS format or bank-specific)
    • Sort Code
    • Account Number
    • Account Name
    • Submission Reference (description of the payroll payment appears on your employee’s bank statement)
    • Service User Number (SUN)
  3. Hit Save.

Just a heads-up, the ability to register and set up Bacs within QuickBooks is not available. You'd want to access the BACS website  and manually set it up through your online banking website. You can visit the following sites as additional references about BACS:
