Question

How do you wipe your account and start again? My account has always said ”review 99 transactions” it’s messy and unorganised I’ve never used QB properly because of this.

I’ve been paying for Quickbooks for a while now and never properly utilised it. None of the figures on my wccount are accurate because I think I entered something wrong on setup. I basically want to start fresh, is there a way to do this?

I'm here to share information on how you can wipe your account and start over, @matt-edwardsgas-.

In QuickBooks Online (QBO), you can delete your data if you need to start fresh with a new QBO company. And if your data is within 90 days of signup, you have the option to purge your account if you're using the Plus or Essentials versions. By doing this, the system deletes all data entered into the company, and you're unable to restore or reverse them.

To purge the data, see the below steps:

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. Change the URL to include /purgecompany.
  3. The next screen will provide a summary of the items to be deleted.
  4. Type the word “YES” once the data gets deleted, then click OK.
  5. Click Wipe Data once your selections are complete.
  6. Once the deletion is complete, you will be rerouted to your home page.

However, if your books are over 90 days old, you need to cancel your account and start a new subscription.

@matt-edwardsgas-

If you ae using QBO Simple Start or your account > 60 days old, you should open a new blank account and cancel the old one.

Then utilize the trial version of a backup restore app during your setup.
