I'll guide you on how to invoice the customer in dollar currency in QuickBooks, @chris-nocturnalm.

You're in the right place for answers. I have steps here on how to invoice customers with their currency in QuickBooks Online.

If you use QuickBooks Online Essentials, Plus, and Advanced, let's turn on the Multi-currency via browser. This way, you can invoice your customer in $ currency. Once turned on, you're unable to turn it off or change your home currency.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon, then choose Account and Settings
  2. Select Advanced.
  3. Select Edit ✎ to modify your currency settings and turn on the Multicurrency.
  4. Add the USD - United States Dollar, then click Save and close.

For more details, see this link: Turn on and use multicurrency.

Once done, you need to set up your customer for multicurrency. If this customer already has a past transaction, you'll need to create a new profile to apply the new currency. I'll show you how:

  1. Go to the Sales tab and choose the Customers tab.
  2. Click New customer.
  3. Pick USD - United States Dollar in the Currency drop-down.
  4. Complete the other fields and click Save

Whenever you create an invoice, it will automatically detect its currency. After that, you can now produce an $ invoice to that customer either in the web or mobile app. Then its banknotes will detect automatically.

For the old customer, you have an option to make the profile inactive to avoid confusion.

In addition, you can run Transaction List by Customer to check your foreign balance, exchange rate, and others. Just check the appropriate box in the Rows/Columns. See the sample screenshot below for your reference.

Please let me know if there's anything else you need. Thanks for dropping by. Keep safe, chris-nocturnalm.
