How to upload an invoice to a split transaction

Hello. I have split my monthly mobile phone contract transactions to 25% business and 75% personal. Where or how do I upload the invoice which obviously shows 100% of amount? If I upload it to the 25% split business part it's obviously not going to match up. Sorry, I'm new to this!

 

I'm using Quickbooks Self Employed

Hi there, Handlez.

 

I'd suggest manually uploading the invoice payment with 100% of the amount. Then, you can categorize the transaction that you imported so you're able to split the entry to 25% business and 75% personal.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Go to the Transactions menu.
  2. Find a transaction on the list.
  3. Choose Business if the transaction was for business, or select Personal for personal. If the transaction was both, choose Split.
  4. Review the category in the Category column.
  5. If you need to change the category, choose the category link. Select a general type, and choose a more detailed category.
  6. Hit Save.
