I am trying to import invoices using a CSV file but quickbooks is not recognising the customer names I already have and is trying to open new accounts for all entries.

Hi there, @serenitycouriers.

To import the CSV file successfully, you need to match all the data in the file with the QuickBooks information, like the customer's name. Also, ensure to use the Display name of the customer in the CSV file.

For additional reference, like mapping import fields, tax codes and other tips about the importing process, you can refer to this article: Import invoices.

If you haven't done this, you can log in to QuickBooks in a different browser, then import the file. If it works, you can go back to your regular browser and clear the cache

If the same thing happens after the steps above, please call our phone agents. We'll have it investigate and check what's the reason why it won't recognise the customer names.

Here's how:

  1. Sign in to QBO.
  2. Go to Help and click on Contact us.
  3. Enter your concern and select Let's talk.
  4. Choose either Chat or Get a callback.

Please let me know if you need anything else. Thanks for dropping by.
