I suggest reaching out to our customer care support so a live agent can take a better look at this. Let me guide you:
- Go to the Help & Feedback tab, then click Help and Support.
- Click Contact Us.
- Enter "Unable to add tax on the invoice lines" in the description field, then click Let's talk.
- Select either Chat or Callback.
In the meantime, you can create the invoice through the browser.

Hello Community Users, We just wanted to advise some steps to follow if the VAT codes drop down is not appearing in the app. Firstly reset the data in the app as mentioned in this thread. Secondly uninstall and reinstall the app. Then if you still do not get the drop down, go to the browser version of Quickbooks, make sure you do not have the default NO VAT setting for your transactions. Then go to the cog in the top right>account and settings>advanced>accounting>default tax selection. Change it to inclusive and save(you can go back in and change it back afterwards).
