Question

I can only download my bank transactions monthly for 2019 and for some reason all my expenses are showing at 0.00. Any help would be hugely appreciated. Thanks

You can count on me with your banking concern, @jocoates52-hotma.

When you connect an account in QuickBooks, the program downloads the data for the last 90 days. In your case, the transactions (2019) are older than the said range. Thus, you'll need to import the missing entries manually to correct your bank or expense balance.

I can share with you the steps to get you back up and running again. First, let's check the entries that are already in QuickBooks to prevent duplicates.

Here's how to do it:

  1. Go to the Transactions tab.
  2. Choose the account you plan to upload transactions into from the Account drop-down menu.
  3. Select All from the Date drop-down list.
  4. Choose the Date column header to sort the list by date.
  5. Take note of the oldest transaction date in the account.

After that, you can log in to your bank's website and download the entries as a CSV file. Set the date range for at least one day before the oldest transaction in the account in QuickBooks. Then, please follow the on-screen steps to finish the download.

When you're ready, you can now import and then review your entries. For more details, please see steps 3 and 4 in this article: Import transactions into QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Once everything's fine, you can begin categorising your transactions to ensure they're accounted for correctly. To expedite this process, you can use bank rules.

Feel at ease to comment back below if you have more banking concerns. I'd be glad to lend a helping hand.
