Question

I had input income from my invoices but they are not showing up as income. They are listed in customer. How do I transfer them?

I need the invoices, which I did myself before having Inuit, to go as Income not as customers.

Let me help you check the items on your invoice and guide you to make sure they show as an income, Becky.

We'll need to verify your product/service if the item used on an invoice is set up as an income account. Here's how:

  1. On the left panel, hover your mouse on Sales, and choose Products and Services.
  2. Choose the item on your invoice.
  3. Under the Income Account drop-down, choose Sales of Product Income.
  4. Press Save and Close.

To receive and record invoice payments, just follow the steps and details in this article: Record invoice payments in QuickBooks Online. Once done, we can run the Profit and Loss report to check the invoices are showing as an income in the report. Let me guide you on how:

  1. Go to Reports and open the Profit and Loss report.
  2. Select the reporting period and set the accounting method to how you want the income reported.
  3. Select Customise.
  4. In the Customise report window, select any additional information you wish to include.
  5. Press Run report.

If you find that your income and expense transactions are missing from your profit and loss report, there are a few things you can do to troubleshoot this issue. You can check out this article for more details: Why are my income and expense transactions missing from my Profit and Loss report?
