Let me help you track your deductions, @jeff102.

First, make sure to turn on the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) feature in QuickBooks Online.

Then, make sure that the customer is set as a CIS contractor This way, QuickBooks will automatically add and calculate the CIS deduction in the invoice.

To turn on the CIS feature:

  1. Click the Gear icon and select Account and Settings.
  2. Go to the Advanced tab and click the Pencil icon in the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) row.
  3. Select the Enable CIS box, then fill in the necessary fields.
  4. Click Save, then Done

Then, set up the customer as a CIS contractor:

  1. Click Sales, then go to the Customers tab.
  2. Select the customer, then click to open the profile.
  3. Click Edit and select the Is CIS contractor box, then click Save

Once you create an invoice, the CIS deduction will automatically pop-up. You'll just have to enter the rate so our program will automatically calculate the deduction.
