Question

I'm seeing 3 connections to my bank account. One is expired, the two are active. I believe this is why I'm seeing duplicate transactions for review. Is there a documented procedure or method to fix this?

Yes, there is, @Garethygog.

I can share a couple of scenarios and steps to ensure you can get rid of these duplicate transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

First, you can exclude these duplicates in your For Review tab. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Banking menu at the left pane, and then choose the For Review tab.
  2. Select the transactions you'll want to exclude by ticking their checkboxes.
  3. Click the Exclude button at the top.
  4. If you wish to delete them, you can go to the Excluded tab.
  5. Tick the checkboxes to batch delete them and then click Delete to continue.

To learn more about this, please check out Step 2 in this article: Exclude transactions in QBO.

Second, if the two active bank accounts that you have are duplicate connections, you can disconnect one of them. This way, it will stop to download duplicate entries moving forward. Before doing so, please make sure to add or match these entries. This is because they'll be deleted in the For Review tab.

Once ready, here's how to get started:

  1. Go to the Banking menu.
  2. Select the blue tile for your bank account.
  3. Choose the pencil ✎ icon to edit the account, and then select Edit account info.
  4. Tick the Disconnect this account on save checkbox.
  5. Click Save and close.

For more details, please review this article: Disconnect an account in QBO.

If everything's good, you can reconcile your account to ensure the accuracy of your books. Then, you can use the reconciliation report to check if there are any discrepancies. This way, you can correct them right away. Once done, you can now print or export the said report to keep a copy for future use. For more tips, please read through this resource: How do I view, print, or export a reconciliation report?
