Question

I’m trying to create an invoice and every time I do it appears as PAID immediately. It’s not paid, it’s pending but it defaults to paid saying I recorded payment.

It’s great to see you in the Community, timsamuels100.


QuickBooks automatically mark your invoices as paid upon creation when the  Automatically apply credits feature is turned on. To keep this from happening, let’s configure the Automation Settings.


Here’s how:

 

  1. Tap the Gear icon at the top to select Account and Settings.
  2. Go to the Advanced menu on the left panel and then click the Pencil icon for Automation.
  3. From there, unmark the box next to Automatically apply credits.
  4. Click Save and Done.

After following these steps, the invoices created will no longer be automatically marked as Paid.
