Question

I'm using Quickbooks Self-Employed to put all my income and expenses online going back to April 2021. How do I record an accurate customer invoice payment date?

Hi jo-clayton75-gma,

Welcome to the Community.

You can manually record the invoice payments with the correct date. Let me show you how:

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Self-Employed account.
  2. Click the Transactions menu.
  3. At the upper-right, click Add transaction.
  4. Under Date, you can enter the invoice payment date. Enter the rest of the transaction details and categorize it.
  5. Click Save

If you created an invoice in QuickBooks and wanted to mark the invoice as paid, the program will use the date that it was marked Paid as the payment date. You can check out this article about the invoicing feature in QuickBooks Self-Employed: Easy Invoicing In QuickBooks Self-Employed.

I also have a link here that will give you more details on the features you can do within your account: QuickBooks Self-Employed Overview.
