Question

"I'm using UK Quickbooks Self Employed. Some of my May 2019 bank transactions are not showing on the quickbooks transactions - specifically BACs payments, and Bank Interest and Charges. They have appeared on previous months however. Any ideas?"

Let's get this sorted out, @vanda.

Before we start, may I know what bank account is connected to your QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE)? It is newly connected, or not? Any additional information would help us provide the best resolution.

There are several instances of why your May 2019 transactions aren't showing on your QBSE account.

  • You just connected your bank account. Please know that when you connect bank accounts in QuickBooks, it will only take up to 90 days of bank transactions to show.
  • You may have an Inactive Bank Account enabled for Online Banking in QuickBooks.
  • There may be ongoing maintenance on your bank’s website.

If you just connected your bank account in QuickBooks, you can consider importing your old bank transactions. For more guidance, feel free to check out this article: Add older transactions to QuickBooks Self-Employed.

However, if your bank is connected before it happens, let's run a manual update to ensure your bank transactions are up-to-date. Here's how:

  1. In your QBSE account, click the Gear icon.
  2. Choose Bank Account.
  3. On the page, select Refresh All

Once done, review your May 2019 transaction in your QuickBooks account.

Just in case you need to know more about categorising transactions in QBSE, you can read this article for more details: Categorise transactions in QuickBooks Self-Employed.
