Question

I only started my business in July 2021 but all my transactions are showing for the 2021 year. Is there a way to set the date range that I require, whilst connected to my bank account, without having to manually add each transaction?

I'm here to provide some details on how you can manage your online banking transactions in QuickBooks Self-Employed, @info-qualitylife.

When you add your account for online banking, QuickBooks will download the 90-days or less of your data. This process is automatic and cannot be opted-out. That said, setting the date range to select a download start period for the 2021 transactions is unavailable.

The good thing is, you can get rid of those unwanted entries by excluding them in bulk. Use the easy steps below to proceed:

  1. Log in to your account.
  2. Go to the Transactions menu.
  3. Select the transactions you want to exclude.
  4. Choose the Exclude checkbox option.
  5. Lastly, click Apply.

Otherwise, you can manually upload your entries to select and bring in those that you want only.

After QuickBooks downloads your banking data, you can start approving them. Here's how to review and categorize downloaded transactions and put them in the correct accounts.
