Question

I want to be able to send all my QuicBooks invoices from my own email address, I don't really want to use GMail. Is this possible, please?

I have my own email domain (xxxx@xxxxxx.xxx.xx) and want to use this for all my emails, especially so I can monitor that emails have been sent.

Hi there, John.

I can see the importance of having the option to use your own email domain to have easy access to all your invoices and monitor them from time to time.

Upon carefully checking my resources, I found out that you're right, that QBO only allows a Gmail domain to send invoices to your customers. I'd recommend sending a feature request to our Product Development Team. This way, they'll see your suggestion and consider adding it for future program updates.

To get you going, I'll write down the steps below.

  1. Access your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. On the top right corner, click the Gear icon.
  3. Below the Profile column, select Send Feedback.
  4. Enter a brief description of your feature request.
  5. Once you're ready, press Send.

Furthermore, I've got this article to help you change your user ID, or password for QuickBooks Online: Change your email, user ID, or password for QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Online Accountant, and QuickBooks Self-Employed.

It's been a pleasure to have you here today. You can leave a comment below if you need help accomplishing QuickBooks-related tasks. I'll be here, willing to assist you. Keep safe, and have a great day!

Hi John,

I'm glad my colleague, Bryan, was able to provide you with information about setting up email addresses for emailing invoices, and shared how to submit feedback. Let us know if there's anything we can help at the moment.

Cheers!

Hi @john-nadder-org-

The only way is to download the pdf invoice & send as attachment via your own email system.

You lose the sent/viewed status in QBO but you gain the ability to properly customise your message & the certainty that it's actually been sent.

The option to use SMTP or Send-As has been requested many times over the years but I don't see it happening - it would open a whole new can of worms for Intuit customer services when, often, the current system for emailing invoices, etc doesn't work as expected.

Thanks for this - I had wondered about this as a work-around, so thanks for confirming it is!
