I've come to help you change the income account your invoice is posted in QuickBooks Online (QBO), @userdavid-heeley. This way, you're able to mage your sales transactions accordingly and keep your account updated.

Your income will depend on the product or service added to your invoices. With this, you'll have to change the income account used for your product or service items to update where they'll be posted in QBO. Let me guide you how.

  1. Go to the Sales menu.
  2. Select Product and Services.
  3. Look for the product or service item and click Edit.
  4. In the Income Account drop-down, choose the appropriate income account.
  5. Click the Also update this account in historical transactions checkbox.
  6. When finished, hit Save and close to confirm the action.

I've attached screenshots below for your reference.

After that, all previous invoice transactions that have the product or service item will automatically be updated as well. To check and verify this, I'd recommend pulling up the Transaction Journal report. Just open an invoice and click the More option.

Also, you're able to create attractive and professional-looking invoices in QBO. With this, you can add the info that matters most to your business. If you wish to learn more about this, I'd recommend checking out this article: Customise invoices in QuickBooks Online.

Let me know if you have other concerns about managing your income accounts and inquiries in monitoring your sales and invoices in QBO. I'm just around to help. Take care always.
