Question

Is anyone having problems importing an invoice csv file. It randomly rejects customers that have been set up previously?

Thanks for taking the time to post your concern here, @JHB4. I'll make sure you'll be able to import your invoice transactions using a CSV file in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
 
When importing invoices using a CSV file, we need to consider the following factors to prevent any issues:
 
  • Make sure to fill in the required columns like the Customer and Invoice date.
  • Special characters are not allowed.
  • Zeros (0) are not allowed anywhere in the file.
  • Check if the file has blank lines if it does delete them.
  • Correct any transactions that display an amount in the Description column.
  • Your CSV file should contain the following information: Date, Description, and Amount.
  • Correct and standardize the Date format to a single format (for example, dd/mm/yyyy). Ensure that the invoice dates are in the present or the past. Invoices with future dates will not be imported.
 
Once verified, you can re-import your transactions following the correct format.
 
If the same thing happens, I suggest logging out and logging back in to refresh your QuickBooks account. This also aids in the implementation of the updates. Otherwise, let's use a private browser to access your account and import the file there. This type of browser doesn't store cache, thus helping the page to load faster. You may use these keyboard shortcuts to save time:
 
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: CTRL + Shift + P
  • Google Chrome: CTRL + Shift + N
  • Microsoft Edge: CTRL + Shift + N
If it works without issues, go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. If not, consider using a different browser to determine if the problem is specific to the one you're currently using.
