Question

Is it possible to link a 'Grant' deposit to a customers invoice? Where for example an EV Grant has been given by the government?

Welcome to the Community, @info-all-techele. Yes, you can link a deposit to your customer's invoices. I'm here to share the details.

First, you need to record the deposit grant to the Accounts Receivable.

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account.
  2. Go to the +New icon, then click on Bank Deposit.
  3. Fill in the details from the Add funds to this deposit section.
  4. Select Accounts Receivable from the Account drop-down, then enter the amount.
  5. Save the transaction.

After that, you're now ready to link the deposit to your invoice.

You can also seek assistance from an accounting expert for more tips while linking your entries.
