Question

My account is connected, but does it have to pull up all previous transactions? Am I able to amend the start date, so it only starts collecting transactions from today?

Thanks for taking the time to scour our Community space for potential solutions. If you haven't encountered this yet, this solution will prove useful in resolving banking issues, simon-rcjohnson-.

I would also appreciate it if you can tell me the name of your bank. This way, I can check our records if there are any reported cases. For most banks, QuickBooks downloads the latest available transactions every night around 10 PM PT. Some may take a little longer. You can also manually update your accounts anytime to get the latest available transactions:

  1. Go to Bookkeeping, select Transactions, then select Bank transactions.
  2. Select Update.

To get only the bank transactions you need, we can manually import them into QBO. Just pick a start date to avoid entering duplicates. Just make sure to know the date of the oldest existing transaction currently in the account. Here's how:

  1. In QuickBooks, go to Bookkeeping and select Chart of accounts.
  2. Find the bank or credit card account you want to upload the transactions into.
  3. Select Account history.
  4. Find and write down the date of the oldest transaction. Usually, the oldest transaction is the opening balance.

Then, proceed to Step 2 until Step 5 in this article to finish the process: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks OnlineFeel free to visit our Banking page for more insights about managing your bank feeds and reconciling accounts.
