Question

My business provides quotes rather than estimates. Is there a way to change setting on quickbooks so I issue quotes rather than estimates.?

Yes, you can configure QuickBooks Online (QBO) to generate Quotes instead of Estimates, Darachtreecare. Let's dive into how to customize your template to reflect this change.

In QBO, estimates are used to send quotes. However, you can edit your estimate template to change the form name to Quotes. Here's how:

  1. Go to the + New and select Estimate.
  2. In the upper right corner, click on Manage and then choose Design.
  3. Click on Add/Edit next to your desired template.
  4. Choose your template and select Edit. Proceed to the Content section for customization.
  5. Click on the upper part of the form and check the Form names field. Then, change Estimate to Quotes.

This customization will allow you to issue documents labeled as Quotes instead of Estimates, which can help clarify communication with your customers.
