Question

My system will not generate a new invoice number. I now have 3 x invoices with 1023 and 2 x 1024. the helpdesk is completely unresponsive and useless. pls help me!

Thanks for reaching out to us. I'm here to help you fix this issue with generating invoice number in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

 

This happens when an invoice number was manually entered. QuickBooks follows the sequence number from the previous number entered on your invoice. To correct this, you can delete and create those duplicate invoices.

 

Before deleting, make sure you have a copy of the invoice information. To delete, just find and open the transaction. Click More, then choose Delete.

 

To recreate an invoice, you may follow the steps below:

  1. Go to Plus icon.
  2. Under Customers, click Invoice.
  3. Enter the necessary information.
  4. Click Save and close.
