Hello, Lynne.

I've got your back, and I'll ensure you'll be able to get your new transactions into QuickBooks Online.

Can I ask for the name of the bank? Knowing this would help me check for any connection-related issues for that certain bank, and if there are any reported cases.

In the meantime, let's do the following steps to help you fix the transactions update issue.

To give an overview, the Online Banking feature needs the transactions to be cleared from the bank. Your records might not have been cleared yet, which is why you're unable to see new transactions on the feed.

In this case, we'll want to wait until they do. Then, manually update the feed again to download the transactions. The time it takes to clear depends on the bank, so it's best to reach out to your bank support for more details.

Also, the bank may be experiencing some maintenance update on their website, or there's an alert in your account. This can affect the bank connection, and prevent the transactions from flowing into the feed automatically. In such cases, check the bank's website for any alerts or account notifications.

If the transactions are cleared and there are no maintenance updates or account notifications, then the issue is likely caused by a cache-related problem.

Cache issues can prevent the transactions from being downloaded into QuickBooks. Let's rule this out and fix this by checking the transactions on a private or incognito window. Let's use these shortcut keys to open it:

  • Google Chrome: Press CTRL + Shift + N.
  • Safari: Press CommandShift + N.
  • Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Edge: CTRL + Shift + P.

From there, log in to your QuickBooks Online account then go to the Banking page to check for the new transactions. When they appear, go back to the regular browser and clear the cache

I should also mention that we only need to clear the cache. We'll want to leave the cookies and browsing history as is.

After clearing the cache, close out any browser instances to complete the process.

Alternatively, using another supported and updated browser can also work.

In case you're encountering a specific error message, I have an article to help you fix it: Open Banking connection errors in QuickBooks Online

When you've successfully downloaded those new transactions, you can start categorising them for your books

When you're ready, you can start your regular reconciliation process. If you need help with this in the future, check out this article: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online

Feel free to drop by if you have more questions about the Online Bank Feeds feature, or when managing your bank transactions.

Though, I can also help you in entering your bank records and managing your reports. I'll see you again soon.
