Question

Off and return later the same day. Do i have to record all 4 trips, ie there and back, and there and back or cam i just put it under one trip. I use the simplified expenses where I take out an overall payment for my journeys rather than fuel, service

I'm here to help you today, mickaela.

 

You need to record those trips so you can use simplified expenses. And, here's how to add them to QuickBooks: 

 

  1. Go to the Miles menu.
  2. Select Add trip.
  3. Enter the distance in the Add miles field.
  4. Edit the Date.
  5. Select the ✏️pencil icon to edit the start and end addresses (optional).
  6. Add a Trip purpose note.
  7. When you're done, select Save.

Thank you for your reply.  My question for shortened but what I was trying to ask is do I have to enter all four trips individually or can I put it in as one trip even though it’s four journeys? So the start and finish location is optional? I have been entering both for every journey, no wonder it takes me so long! I find the auto tracker is not accurate enough for me to use

Yes, it's possible to add them in one trip if you're adding them manually, and if it's automated, only a one-way trip possible. For manual recording, you'll have the option to add the miles of travel.
