Where do you go to set up payslip so it is emailed with a password?

Hi meeraminesh,

The payslips from QuickBooks Advanced payroll are not password protected.

If you wish to password protect these, you would need to set up the employee portal - this will then provide a link to the payslip on the email which the customer then logs into their portal to view.

Thanks

Hello there, meeraminesh.

After we run payroll, we can email the payslip to our employees. QuickBooks encrypted password as long as the payslip is emailed to your employees on or before the date you pay them. For more details, you can check out this article: Payslips in QuickBooks Online Standard Payroll.

You can share this information to your employees about the password for their payslip email, it is consist of eight characters, in the format of:

  • First 4 letters of the employee’s surname (lowercase).
  • First 4 characters of the NI number (lowercase). If no NI number is present in QBO, the year of birth is used.

In addition, you can visit this link where we can get further information about QuickBooks Online Payroll.

Let me know if you have other questions. I hope you're good. Stay safe!

Thank you Sarah.

Today was our pay day, and we sent out the payslips by QB via Email expecting as you say the payslips to be password protected. However they were not and anyone with access to the email can open the payslip.
