Hello there, gmcardleplumbing.

Let me share information to help you record transactions when transferring funds from a business to a personal account.

You can enter the transaction as a transfer if you've added your business and personal accounts in QuickBooks Online. To begin with, here's how to enter the entry directly into the system if you haven't downloaded them from both accounts:

  1. Click on the +New button, then Transfer.
  2. Choose the account the money is coming from in the Transfer Funds From dropdown.
  3. Select the bank account that the money is going to in the Transfer Funds To dropdown.
  4. Enter the amount in the Transfer amount field and edit the Date field.
  5. You can choose to add a description in the Memo field.
  6. Select Save and close or Save and new.
  7. Click Yes if you double-checked the date.

Please note that we don't recommend mixing business and personal funds to avoid messing up your books, which leads to confusion.

You can refer to this article for more options on recording the transfer depending on what's applicable at your end: Transfer funds between accounts.

On the other hand, creating a journal entry can also help you move the money between your accounts. With this, I recommend contacting an accountant for further guidance.
