PO only sends Description of item

When creating a PO it only send the description of the item which is not sufficient for suppliers.  How can I  add the product/service and item to the PO for sending.

Good evening.   

we have tried what you have suggested but there is no activity column on the print preview nor on what is printed and sent.    I’m confused why the data that is on screen is not in the printed version.  Can you help please.   Thanks

Hi there, Mags936.

 

The purchase order will include the products and services when sending it to suppliers. I attached a screenshot for additional references.

 

 

If you're unable to see this item in the Activity column, I suggest logging in your QuickBooks account in a private browser. From there, you're able to check if the cache in your regular browser is causing the problem.

 

Here's how on how to use these keyboard shortcuts based on the browser you're using. 

 

  • For Internet Explorer of Firefox, press Ctrl + Shift + P.

  • For Chrome, press Ctrl + Shift + N.

  • For Safari, hold down Command + Shift + N.

 

If it works in incognito, you can check this article:  Clear my browser cache and temporary Internet files. This provides steps on how to clear the cache to helps QBSE function more efficiently.

 

If the steps above didn't work, use another supported browser as alternatives.

Hello there, Mags936

 

I've replicated this on my end, and it seems everything works fine.

 

It's possible that we're using the Category details where we can enter accounts and descriptions for the PO. If so, the accounts will not show in the Activity column because it is only used for the items. Let's ensure to use the Item details instead of the other one. I've added a sample screenshot for additional reference:

 

We have a few reports that you can run for the PO. Below are the following:

 

  • Open Purchase Order List
  • Open Purchase Order Detail
  • Purchases by Product/Service Detail
  • Purchases by Supplier Detail

 

To pull up any of these, go to Reports from the left menu and enter each name in the search field. Aside from that, we can export, print, and email them. These icons can be found at the upper-right corner of the report.
