Question

QBs shows double the profit that I actually have in my account. Is it not matching up the payments I get through my linked bank account and the invoices I mark as paid?

Hello there, charlotte-sarti-.

Let's make sure you'll be able to handle your transactions properly.

We'll need to review and look for the transaction that's causing QuickBooks to show the profit double. Still, you can follow the steps below to find the duplicate one. Here's how:

  1. Go to Banking on the left panel.
  2. In the Categorize section, look the duplicate payment. Then, select Undo under the Action column. You can delete the duplicate transaction to correct and keep them accurate.

Also, it could be that you've added the bank transaction instead of matching it. If that's the case, it can cause duplicate to your profit. You can follow the steps below to handle the invoice and payment properly:

Then, match it from the bank feed. When QuickBooks downloads bank data, it tries to find a match with any QuickBooks transactions already entered. If you agree with the match information shown in the row, click the Match button. This will match with the existing QuickBooks transaction. Make sure the date and amount is the same.
