Recording daily expenses (petrol & food) into my quickbooks

Hello

Can somebody advise.  I'm new to quickbooks and wish to upload petrol receipts and daily costs into my quickbooks to make it easier for my accountant to view rather sending them the manual receipts. I have managed to snap the receipts and they seem ready to review but not sure of the step by step guide on how to process these kind of bills.  They are what i'd call receipts and costs incurred by my company, these are not monies owed to or from as the costs have already been incurred by me.

Any advice would be appreciated.

May thanks

Thanks for choosing QBO as your accounting partner @lisa ward. I'm here to help you upload and record petrol receipts in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

I appreciate you sharing details about your concern. You're on the right track in importing the receipts in the program using the snap receipt feature. Once they are already in your account, the next thing you need to do is to review, edit, add, or match those to the existing transactions. Here's how:

  1. In your QBO account, navigate to the Bookkeeping menu and select Transactions.
  2. Then, choose Receipts.
  3. From the For review tab, review the uploaded receipts. The program will let you know if it finds existing transactions in your books that match with your uploaded receipts or bills.
  4. Next, check the labels in the Action column to determine what steps you need to take next.

If there's no match found, you can simply create new entries from that receipt by choosing the Create Expense button. For reference, please proceed with Step 2 of the article: Upload your receipts and bills to QuickBooks Online.

Additionally, here's a helpful resource that you can use as a guide in reviewing your accounts to ensure the balance matches your real-life bank or credit card statements: Learn the reconciliation workflow in QuickBooks.

I'd like to hear updates on how the steps work for you. Any info you can provide is highly appreciated. If there are additional questions you have in mind about managing receipts in QBO, please post a reply below. I'm just right here willing to lend a hand. Thanks for dropping by. Have a good one.
