We are a milk delivery business and generally most people have the same thing every week but at times people want to add or remove products. With over a thousand customers a week dont want to do the invoices weekly. Can anyone help me with this, i can do the recurring invoices but want to go in to the invoice without changing the whole thing or starting from scratch.

Consider to utilize the membership management app as a workaround to integrate with QBO.  You can empower customers with a self-service portal to change their order anytime.

Hi Suzanne!

I'm glad that you took to the time to post in the Community today. I can imagine your challenge with invoicing, considering the number of customers you have.

I'd agree with creating a recurring invoice. You can actually make it like a general invoice template that contains all items you sell. Then, when you use it for a certain customer, just remove the items that he or she won't buy. Just set the Type as Unscheduled.

Thank you for your reply. If its set as unscheduled it wont email every 4 weeks though will it ?

You're welcome, Suzanne!

Yes, you're right. The invoice won't be automatically emailed to your customers if the template is set to Unscheduled. Setting it as Scheduled  (Auto-email) is actually not ideal for your scenario since your customers don't buy or add certain items.  Besides, you can only create a few recurring invoice templates in QBO, and you have thousands of customers.

You may want to consider Fiat Lux - Asia's suggestion about finding an app.

I'll be here if you have more questions.
