I'll share a method to unsplit transactions in QuickBooks Online.

Yes, it will change. You can undo the split transaction in QuickBooks Online, and it will return to the For review page. You can then add or match it again. 

1. Go to the Banking menu.
2. Select Banking tab.
3. Click the Categorised tab.
4. Locate the split transaction, then hit Undo.
5. After that, the transaction will go back to For review tab.
6. You can add or match it again.
