Supplier Invoice & Folio Numbers

Is there a way to input invoices with a consecutive folio number (similar to sales invoices which pick up the next invoice number)?  I want to file my hard copy invoices in folio order and be able to refer back to the hard copy using the folio.  Can QBO give me a folio?

Hi there, @M for TF!

You can personally customize your supplier's invoice or bill transaction numbers. I'll be happy to help you accomplish this.

First off, let's turn on the custom transaction number feature directly from your Accounts and Settings. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Under Your Company, select Accounts and Settings.
  3. Select Sales.
  4. Click Sales form content.
  5. Toggle Custom transaction numbers.
  6. Select Save.
  7. Click Done.

Once done, here's how you can customize your bill transaction numbers or your bill transaction:

  1. Go to the Plus icon.
  2. Under Suppliers, select Bill.
  3. Enter all information necessary for your bill.
  4. On the Bill no. field, type in your customized bill numbers.
  5. Click Save and close.

To add, you can take a look at the screenshots I've included below.
