I used to be able to tag my transactions in QB Self Employed to enable me to track them better but the tag tool seems to have disappeared. Anyone know why it's gone and how I get it back?

Hi there, JD Garden.  Let me make it up to you by ensuring you'll be able to tag transactions in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE).

Let's ensure that the tag feature is turned on. If you're still encountering issues, we can perform some basic troubleshooting steps to fix this.

There are instances when the browser is full of commonly used page resources, which results in this error or odd behavior. Let's use a different or private browser to view your account. You can use either of these shortcut keys to access one:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

Once logged in, try to tag transactions. If it works, go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. This is done to speed up the process the next time you do a transaction in QuickBooks. Also, an alternative way is to use other compatible browsers.

You may want to create rules for your transactions to categorize recent and past transactions quickly. To find out more about this, check this article: Create rules to speed up reviews in QBSE.

Please keep us posted if you need additional assistance in tagging transactions in QBSE. I'm always here to help. Have a great day.
