Transactions issue

Hi! I’ve connected my bank account and reviewed the transactions. I have just added my PayPal and started to review the transactions but realised I was adding transactions have already reviewed from my bank account (that’s the account the money was taken from with PayPal) I don’t need to connect my PayPal really do I? It won’t let me delete it, only hide it but would hiding it also hide the transactions? I’m worried I’ve made mistakes I can’t rectify! Any help greatly appreciated!

while I’m here I have a second question! I use Anna Money as my business bank account but it’s not one that can be connected to quick books, when I try and upload a csv file of transactions it just keeps saying failed. Anybody know why that might be happening? Thank you :-)

Hi there, @Panda1504

Thank you for reaching out to the Community.

I’m here to help you clear up things about your transactions.

If you have duplicate transaction from your bank if the PayPal transaction itself matches to the record in your register. Conversely, if the downloads from PayPal match the one from your bank account, you can remove them from PayPal.

Here’s how:

  1. On the left pane, go to the Banking menu, then click the Banking tab.
  2. Choose between PayPal or the bank where the transactions are duplicated.
  3. Go to the For Review tab.
  4. Select all transactions that you want to exclude, then tap Exclude.

However, if these duplicate transactions has already moved into the QuickBooks system, you’ll need to UNDO them and manually exclude from the For Review tab.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Banking.
  2. Select the blue tile for the account you want to review.
  3. Select the Reviewed tab.
  4. Find the transaction you want to undo.
  5. Select Undo from the Action column. This removes the added record from your accounts in QuickBooks.
  6. Go back to the For Review tab.

For more information about categorising and matching online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online, you can check out this link. It includes steps if you want to split transactions between multiple accounts.

You’ll want to read through the differences between Connect to PayPal app, Sync with PayPal app, and PayPal Bank Feeds. This will guide you through with the connections and how transactions are handled and imported into QuickBooks.

To answer your second question, to clarify did you encounter error upon uploading CSV files?

Some importing files has there own set of format. We need to ensure we verify this requirements to prevent any error issues when importing your CSV data.

Also, we can start refreshing your browser to import them within QuickBooks Online. Click the Reload icon or press F5 on your keyboard. It could be that the error is caused by a full cache on our browser.

Let's try to fix it out by following the recommendation below:

  • Use a different browser like Google Chrome, Mozilla, Microsoft Edge, and Safari. Then, try to import them in your QBO account again. It's a way to verify if the error is caused by having too much data in our browser.
  • If everything works fine, that would be the time that we can clear the cache to help QuickBooks run better on your computer.
  • The other option is to use the supported browser in QBO.
