Question

We don't charge VAT for international customers - can we avoid having to manually edit each invoice for them to remove tax using automation?

quickbooks said they couldn't think of a way as tax is associated with products rather than customers. but we have many customers outside UK so it will be time consuming to have to remove tax manually for every invoice abroad.

Hello, Katy.breddal@gma, Do you stock track on your products? If not you could set up separate non-stock items and set them to NOVAT which would then auto-populate when you select the product on the invoice? There is a default NO VAT put once turned on it would apply to all transactions and you would need to edit the ones that would VATable. Do you have a greater percentage of international customers?
