When altering a sales invoices how do I change the product/service selection without losing all the data in other fields - such as description and amount- which go blank?

Thank you for adding a post here on the Community page, @rwebb.

 

At this time, the data entered under the Description and Amount column will be removed when updating the products/services on your sales transactions. The ability of not losing the data on those fields is currently unavailable.

 

 

I know the importance of this feature when recording your transactions. I'll take note of this and pass along the information to our product developers. This way, they'll be able to know and work on in the coming updates.

thanks- it would be nice to go back to not losing that infomation as we it never used to disappear and is a recent change.

Hi rwebb.

 

This is always going to happen - it did with QB Desktop - because the system will automatically populate the line description with the default description of the new product/service.

 

Simply copy the existing line description (highlight / ctrl+c) then paste (ctrl+v) after the change.
