So is the resolution of this issue that it is not possible to edit an invoice that has been copied from an estimate?

Thanks for posting here in the Community, @LeeAngelo

I'm here to help provide some information about editing an invoice that you copy from the estimate.

When you copy an invoice from an estimate, you can edit it if the Progress Invoicing is Off. Otherwise, you cannot make any changes.

To turn On/Off the Progress Invoicing, follow these steps below:

  1. Go to the Gear ⚙ icon and select the Account and Settings.
  2. Click the Sales tab.
  3. In the Progress Invoicing section, then hit the Pencil icon ✎.
  4. Click the button to turn it On/Off
  5. Choose Update.
  6. Select Save, then Done

For additional information, check this article: Set up and send progress invoices in QuickBooks Online

Refer to this article for additional details on how to customize invoices and estimates: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.

Let me know if you have any further questions concerning progress invoicing in QBO. I'm always here to help you. Have a wonderful day.

Let's perform some troubleshooting steps for you to edit the invoice, joshuareid15.

There are times when your browser's cache data is damaged or full of frequently-accessed page resources. When this happens, it will prevent you from editing an invoice.

To better isolate this issue, we can access QuickBooks Online (QBO) using a private or incognito window to check if this is a browser issue or not.

Here's how:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

Then, go back to the invoice and try editing the value in the QTY column.

If it works, go back to your original browser and clear your browser's cache to delete the temporary Internet files. Then, clear the Intuit-specific cookies to refresh website preferences on your program. Just proceed to Step 2: Clear Intuit-specific cookies from your browser section in this article: Clear cache and cookies to fix issues when using QuickBooks Online.

You can also use other supported, up-to-date browsers to be thorough.

I have a link here that provides you with articles about managing your customer transactions: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/manage-customers-and-income/misc/02/uk-manage-customers-and-income?label=QuickBooks%20Online.

Please know I'm always available here if you need a hand with running your financial reports or any QBO related. Take care always.

Hi,  Thanks for your response.

I followed the steps you mentioned about trying on an inconginto window and seeing if that works unfortunately it didnt let me edit however gave me a better function.

This time, say the quantity was 6 and amount was 7 all it lets me edit on a row is 42.00 of 42.00 and either amount or percent.  Is it because it was an estimate converted to an invoice?

Hello joshuareid15,

what you will need to do is change it on the estimate and then create a new invoice from that estimate with the create information on it as you cant edit the invoice that has already been created from the estimate.
