When I raise an invoice it goes straight to paid when I press save.

In QuickBooks Online (QBO), an option is available that automatically designates your invoices as paid. This feature can be enabled, and it could be the cause behind your invoices being marked as paid.

 

Here's how you can check if this feature is turned on:

 

  1. Click the Gear icon at the top.
  2. Select Account and Settings.
  3. In the left menu, tap Advanced.
  4. Hit the Pencil icon in the Automation section.
  5. Check if there is a check-mark in the box next to apply credits Automatically.

 

Once you have turned off this feature, log out and log back into your account. Then, try to create invoices again and check if they are still being marked as paid.
