Why can’t I create a quote rather than an estimate?

Hi seancolburn,

An estimate is the same as a quote. It helps you send a bid or proposal that you want to give to your customers.

If you want to indicate Quote instead of Estimate on the forms, you can modify it. Let me guide you how:

  1. From the Gear icon, select Custom form styles.
  2. In the New style drop-down, select Estimate.
  3. Go to the Content tab.
  4. Under Form, tick the Form names box.
  5. Enter Quote on the field.
  6. Click Done.

When your customer is ready to purchase the items, you can create an invoice out of their estimate. Here's a reference as your guide: Create and send estimates in QuickBooks Online.
