This is the rent for my business.  Why is it showing as disallowable in the self assessment summary?

Hello Rutherford2,

Welcome to the Community page,

It will be due to the fact you have 80 hours a month in the working from home section if you have a look at this link it tells you more here

Ah... thanks... seems a bit mad. as i work 60 hours per week.... I'm always working - even when at home

I have changed it now, but it hasn't updated... does it take time?

Thank you so much

I appreciate you for getting back, Rutherford.

Changes you've made to your account specifically to the hours on the working from home section will take instantly. If not, you can try logging out and back into your account to refresh the page.

Otherwise, you can try performing some basic troubleshooting steps to update the details. It's the best place to check browser related issues while working with QuickBooks.

To save you time, use either of these keyboard shortcuts:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl Shift N
  • Safari 11 or newer: ⌘ Shift N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl Shift P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl Shift P

Then, check out your rent expense from the Self-Assessment Summary. If it works fine, go back to your original browser and clear its cache to start fresh. You can also use another supported and up-to-date browser to narrow down the result.

When everything is in place, you can check out these links for more tips about using your reports to fill in your returns:
