Question

Why is QuickBooks (simple start) showing my income as expenses? It shows my correct bank balance but as a minus figure.

I have marked individual transactions as Income, Sales, Services, etc, and it all looks fine- then seems to be marked by QB as expenses?

Hi there, @info-nutterdogs-.

Thanks for bringing this up in the QuickBooks Community page.

The way transactions are posted on the Banking page depends on your financial institution. If your income transactions are marked as expenses, we can exclude them. Then, manually import the correct ones in QuickBooks.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Banking or Bookkeeping menu and select Transactions.
  2. Click Banking.
  3. Select the For Review tab.
  4. Check the box of the transactions to exclude.
  5. Click Exclude.

Once done, they will be moved to the Excluded tab of the Banking page. To correct your transactions, let's manually import them into QuickBooks Online (QBO).

After they are imported into QuickBooks, it's time to match and categorise them. They will go into your accounts after you review them.

Keep me posted if there's anything else you need about handling your bank transactions. I'll be right here to assist you further.
