Hello there, info1566. Thank you for posting in the Community.

QuickBooks only depends on when the transactions occur and when it cleared by your bank. In this case, you can correct the date of your transactions if necessary. That way, it'll not show as for the last tax year.

I'm adding an article that contains additional information about filing your taxes: QuickBooks Self-Employed annual tax guide.

I'm always around to help if you need further assistance. Take care and have a good one.

How do I change transaction date

Thanks for coming back here, info1566.

QuickBooks Self-Employed depends on the data that is sent from your bank. Therefore, changing the date of a downloaded transaction is currently unavailable.

What you can do at the moment is exclude the transactions with the incorrect date. Then, enter the transactions manually, or check if you can edit the date from the bank's website. Then, import the data back to your QuickBooks Self-Employed account.

To exclude, here's how:

  1. Go to Transactions on the left panel.
  2. Put a check mark on the transactions you want to remove.
  3. Click the Exclude icon above and hit Apply.

Here's a sample screenshot for a visual reference:
