Why when I upload an invoice from an email can I only create an expense but with other clients I can create an expense or bill?

Have you checked to see if the details of the invoice you uploaded are the same as the other clients? When you upload an invoice from an email in QuickBooks Online, the system may default to creating an expense instead of a bill due to how the invoice is processed or the information it extracts.
