It's great to have you join this forum, melwynnk. I'm here to provide information to help you turn off and stop VAT from showing in your future transactions.

In QuickBooks Online, once the VAT feature is enabled, turning off this option isn't available in the program. However, I've got a workaround to provide, so you can remove VAT calculations on your transactions. To do this:

  1. In your QBO account, go to the Gear icon and select Account and Settings.
  2. Click on the Advanced tab.
  3. Under the Accounting section, click the edit icon.
  4. Change the Default tax rate selection and choose Out of Scope of Tax or No VAT.
  5. Then, select Save and Done

In addition to this, I'm sharing this reference to help you learn more about managing VAT in your account: Add a VAT category to your products and services.

I'll keep an eye on this thread for any additional queries you may have when managing tax rates in your file. Feel free to let me know, and I'll make sure to get you covered. Keep safe and have a good one!
