Can someone tell me how to create entries for the vat fuel scale charge?

i have added this journal:
dr motor expenses gross amount exempt sales vat
cr moto expenses net amount 20% vat

QuickBooks Online

Hello Gillianhind,

Unfortunately we do not support this in QuickBooks you would need to reach out to an accountant who would be able to advise you the best way to record this.

Hi @gillianhind

Yes - that looks fine to me - although I don't enter a VAT Code in the Debit line (or use NoVAT to keep this line off the VAT return).

I've seen slightly different methods on this forum (different Cr/Db accounts) but I've been doing it this way for years (in QB Desktop & now QBO) without an issue.
