Question

Can you help -I've made a error on my VAT return in Box 6. I've looked for it in the VAT Suspense but can find it to make the adjustment there.

There are a few things we can do if you accidentally made an error on your VAT returns, Sally.

You'll need to inform HMRC and complete the VAT 652 form. Then, you can include the adjustment on your next VAT return if the VAT error doesn't exceed:

  • £10,000
  • 1% of the Box 6 figure required on the VAT return, subject to an upper limit of £50,000.

You can also refer to the screenshot below for the tips when completing the form.
