Hello Community Users! We just wanted to add some updates to this thread. You can now  for certain user types unfile the VAT return in Quickbooks Online, we  have included a help article here with more information on this. Any questions you're welcome to add them onto this thread.

Hello, @denis4.

You'd want to unfile the VAT return before you delete it. This way, the journal entry that was created when you mark the VAT period as filed in QuickBooks.  That being said, let me route you to our Customer Care Team so you'd be assisted in unfilling your return and reversing the journal to create a new entry.

Here is the information that you need to provide:

  • QuickBooks Online Company ID.
  • The reason for unfiling
  • Which tax filing period you wish to unfile.

Just a heads up, during the unfiling process, you'll need to sign out from your account. Once completed, you'll be notified by our customer care team.

Let me know how this goes by clicking the Reply button below. We're always here in the Intuit Community to help.
